- This International Workshop Agreement (IWA) defines the framework for methods for coherent quantification of CO2 emissions of freight transport (total and intensity) on three levels: operation of transport chain element, network level including company level, and cargo level. It provides a gap analysis to identify starting points and recommend further specifications and possible alignments on mode-specific and intermodal levels, including transhipment centres and warehouses. Consideration is given to the practicality of methods and intended use for potential user groups, particularly providers of freight transport and logistic services as well as their customers.
