Scope
This document describes high internal pressure, low internal pressure, immersion environmental test methods for optics and photonics. This document applies to high internal pressure, low internal pressure, immersion tests for optical and photonic instruments including ancillary components from other fields such as mechanical, chemical and electronic devices.
Introduction

Key points of standard technology evolution and implementation

The new version of the standard inherits and develops the core test system of the GB/T12085 series, and for the first time formally includes optical and photonics instruments in the naming scope of the standard file. Compared with the 2010 version, the upgrade is mainly completed in three aspects:

Test parameter accuracy is improved:The immersion test temperature tolerance is tightened from ±3℃ to ±2℃

Comparative analysis of key test parameters

Test typePressure difference (kPa)DurationTolerance range
High internal pressure50±0.230min≤0.5kPa
Low internal pressure100±0.540min≤1.0kPa
Immersion4m underwater3h±10% depth

Implementation suggestions and case analysis

When conducting immersion tests on optical observation systems, special attention should be paid to:

  1. Use a calibrated soft water circulation device (conductivity <5μS/cm)
  2. Control the temperature change rate in stages: the initial 15min should not exceed 2K/min

After a telescope manufacturer improved the sealing test in accordance with this standard, the waterproof level of its military-grade products was increased from IP67 to IP69K.
